Register Early
Fill out the online form. We will sign
you up for the Walk and mail you an AIDS Walk button to
wear as you collect pledges. Or register by phone by
calling 963-3636 x107.
Sign Up Sponsors
 Using a pledge sheet, sign up as many sponsors as you
can—family, friends, co-workers, etc. Set a goal of
raising at least $150 for which you’ll receive a free
T-shirt! Ask each sponsor for at least $1 for each
kilometer (which equals $10 for the Walk), or as much as
$50 per kilometer!
Sponsors Pay When They Pledge
Have your sponsors pay when they pledge rather than
after the Walk. We suggest you keep an envelope attached
to this pledge sheet to hold your pledge money and
checks. Ask your sponsors to make checks payable to
Pacific Pride Foundation (PPF). Their canceled check is
their receipt. We will be collecting pledges when you
register on Walk Day.
Create a Team
Get a group together and create a team! Team members
could be friends, co-workers, family members, or any
other group or affiliation you belong to. To become a
team:

Create a team name.

 Choose a team captain
who will lead the team and be the contact between AIDS
Project and other team members.
- Call 963-3636 x107
to sign up and receive special team information and
pledge sheets.
- Teams must raise at
least $500 by October 7 to qualify as a team (team
captains should call AIDS Project with an update on
how much their team has raised).
- Every team member who
raises $150 or more will get a free AIDS Walk T-shirt.
- Be creative—wear a
team costume on Walk Day, create a team theme song!

Walk
Day
Arrival
Complimentary fruit, bagels, muffins, coffee, juice, and
other breakfast items will be available prior to the
Walk. Bring this pledge sheet and all pledge money with
you to the AIDS Walk registration area at the Soccer
Field at Chase Palm Park (Cabrillo Blvd & Garden St). Free parking is limited and carpooling is
encouraged. Follow signs to designated parking areas.
Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. The Walk starts at
10:00 a.m.
Receive a Gift
Every walker who registers before or on Walk Day will
receive an AIDS Walk button. All walkers who turn in
$150 or more in pledges will receive a free AIDS Walk
T-shirt.
Walk
 The Walk begins at 10:00 a.m. Rain or shine, we will
walk from the Soccer Field at Chase Palm Park (Cabrillo
Blvd. & Garden St.) to Shoreline Park, down to
the East Beach Pavilion, then return to the Soccer Field to
finish the course! There will be several rest stops with
refreshments along the route. We anticipate that it will
take approximately 2 hours to walk the 10 kilometers
(6.2 miles). Dress in layers and wear comfortable
walking shoes.
Celebrate
After the Walk there will be free drinks, munchies,
and free massages for registered walkers, as well as
live music. The individuals and team raising the most
through pledges will receive prizes. Bring a picnic
lunch and enjoy a relaxing afternoon.
