Education is the key to preventing HIV transmission. Through targeted outreach and the use of changing educational tools and techniques, we are able to reach those at risk for HIV infection. All of our services are available in both Spanish and English. Todos nuestros servicios servicios se ofrecen en Español.
Here's
a great internship opportunity for anyone venturing into the
public health, nursing, social service or counseling fields.
Pacific Pride Foundation's HIV test counselor staff and

This program serves people living with HIV/AIDS in our community by offering them health information, the chance to participate in social events, and the opportunity to network with others. Previous events have included horseback riding, retreats, and a trip to an amusement park. Our goal is to empower our clients though knowledge, understanding, and friendship. In order to officially conduct HIV risk assessments and
disclose HIV test results to individuals who test anonymously
for HIV antibodies, you must first become certified by the
State Office of AIDS. This requires a 4 1/2 day training
course provided by the University of California San
Francisco's
AIDS Health Project and offered in Santa Barbara
twice a year. This course is free to those who are or
who will be volunteering with Pacific Pride Foundation. This
training teaches you everything on HIV testing, HIV and the
Law, Counseling skills, Crisis Intervention, HIV Disease and
AIDS, current treatment issues, Rapid Testing and much, much
more. This is also a great opportunity to serve your
community, provide education and prevention messages that help
curb the spread of HIV and the further infection of those who
may be at risk.
To sign up for an upcoming training please contact Stephen Neal, Director of Education (805) 963-3636 x 134, or Fidel Villanueva,
Santa Barbara County HIV Testing Coordinator (805) 681-5120.
