For the first time in the history of our state, lesbian and gay couples may legally marry. Finally our community has been recognized and given the opportunity to be treated just like everyone else—no better, no worse. June 17 2008, will forever hold a significance to our LGBT communities, not only in California, but nationwide. Already, committed partners, some with children, are marrying. This is a proud moment not only for LGBT individuals and their families and friends, but for all fair-minded Californians.
Let the rejoicing begin! Pacific Pride Foundation has put together a list of marriage ceremony resources. These faith, interfaith and non-denominational men and women have all come forth as supporters of lesbian and gay marriage. For your official license go to the Hall of Records at the County Court Houses in Santa Maria, Lompoc or Santa Barbara.

We are a collaborative project with representation from Pacific Pride
Foundation, Gay and Lesbian Alliance of the Central Coast, UCSB, and
community members. We are members and allies of the local lesbian, gay,
bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community, and are working to improve
community support for LGBT individuals in Santa Barbara County and
nearby areas.
We are looking for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and same-sex
attracted individuals who live, work, or socialize in Santa Barbara
County or nearby areas to complete an anonymous and brief (10-15 minute)
survey.
If you choose to participate, you will be asked to answer questions
about issues, concerns, and strengths of the Central Coast LGBT
community. The first 300 people who take the survey will receive a $5
coupon for an online merchant or have the option to make a donation to
the charity of their choice.
If you are interested in participating, please follow this link
. From this secure website you can read about the survey, complete the survey, and get your coupon.
Let your voice be heard! Please feel free to let other members of the local LGBT community know about this survey.
