Greetings!
While we started the New Year on a somber note in Santa Barbara, we
here at Pacific Pride Foundation are proud of the support and solidarity we've
seen in our community. Here are some more
opportunities to come together and connect with each other, with more
in the works all the time. Stay tuned for more information
about the New Years Eve attack that was the subject of our previous
email - we aren't afraid and we're not going away!

Wine a bottle
of Oreana Wine!
It's the new year, and we here at PPF are always looking for new
ideas and inspiration for social events we can host in our
community. Is there an event you have always wanted someone to
host, or something you've really enjoyed in the past and would like
to see again? Let us know!
We'll be
taking suggestions for new events for the coming year until Tuesday,
January 31. The person who offers the
suggestion we like the best will receive a bottle of Oreana's 2009
Petit Deux. Email Tyson
with your event suggestions to put yourself in the running.

Thoughts from the Executive Director's Desk
Welcome to 2012
Everyone,
If you received
our email
and Facebook blasts yesterday, you know about the hate crime that
took place on New Years Eve in downtown Santa Barbara. Have
information that could be relevant? Please contact Detective
Kushner at (805) 897-2345. Or feel the need to speak with a
counselor, please contact Cynthia, our Director of
Counseling Services.
It's tragic and
horrifying events like this that instill in me the tremendous power
our community pulling together in solidarity, and grateful that your
LGBT center is here to put in the work to make our community safer
and more inclusive. It does indeed take a village to make long
lasting change. Below are some photos from the press conference we
held in conjunction with Mayor Helene Schneider and the Santa Barbara
Police Department, because Santa Barbara is no place for hate.
Warmly,
David Selberg
